Painting

Painting classes in the summer are a bit different than the regular ones throughout the year. Not only the students are different - mostly people who want to start painting but haven´t had training - but also there´s no model, the basic anchor to all the work developed during the other months.

It doesn´t mean that they are uninteresting, not at all. We´ve been making different exercises that probably have no opportunity to arise during the rest of the year, and it actually feels good to go back to the basics and learn from the experience.

Yesterday the challenge was to make a composition with the contrasts made by primary colours, mixed on the palette.

Can you tell that I had fun putting this together? I´m happy with the result, I wonder how I can further use it... any suggestions?

As aulas de pintura durante o Verão têm um formato diferente das que decorrem durante o ano. Por um lado, os colegas são outros, maioritariamente pessoas que querem começar a pintar e que aproveitam os cursos de curta duração dos meses de Janeiro e de Fevereiro. Por outro, ao contrário do que acontece entre Março e Novembro, não há modelo, facto este que me fez sentir um pouco perdida no início, já que sentia que me faltava a âncora (realmente, o homem é um animal de hábitos!).

O exercício de ontem foi o de fazer uma composição com contrastes feitos com misturas das cores primárias e branco. Essas misturas teriam de ser feitas na paleta e aplicadas lisas no suporte.

Este foi o resultado, que me deixou muito satisfeita. Estou a pensar que aplicações posso dar a esta pintura... sugestões?
